Resource Protection Areas (RPA)
&
The Chesapeake Bay Watershed
Resource Protected Areas (RPAs) are part of our community ... and it is important to understand our responsibilities when living near a RPA.The entire community is within the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. The RPA are shown in light green in the photo below but are essentially a 100 ft. band along all waters.
The Prince William County Environmental Services Division manages the RPAs within th county and their Resource Protection Area Requirements webpage has information on the requirements for government, developers and homeowners. The Chesapeake Resource Protection Area brochure is a great source of additional information.
